History of China rugs: The history of carpet weaving in china, begin with the nomads of Sinkiang and Ninghsia in the region of western china, centuries before. Carpet of this time was simple in design with limited range; it used pleasant color and Chinese characters as its symbolic motifs.

The rugs of later half of the 18th century was inspired by the floral pattern of Persian with Dragon motif in the central, these were the characteristic beauties of rugs from Ch’ing Dynasty.

In the beginning of the 20th Century, natural dyes are used with bright colors in coloring schemes. During 1920s, Peking and Tiensin rugs of fine quality were produced.
